Welcome to Midday: History Repeating

Running my solo show again, but longer and work-shoppier. Hard-out at an hour. Directed by Julia Whitehouse.

“Welcome to Midday: History Repeating” is a comedic live storytelling show about how Sharon Spell came to terms with her young adult life when she worked as a docent, or museum tour guide. Growing up, she was compared to her mother. A lot. To rebel, she did everything she could to avoid becoming her mom, only to become just like her but worse. A lot worse. To publicly save face, she didn’t let on how miserable she was in private. She started coming to terms with her choices when she ended up in this unlikely career in a Victorian house museum. As she led tours through the public and private rooms where a robber baron and his family once lived, she saw similarities in how she compartmentalized her life. While leading the public along a well-worn museum path, would she ever take the personal steps to get herself back on track?
