"Welcome to Midday: History Repeating" is a storytelling show about my experience as a docent, or a museum tour guide. I started coming to terms with my young adult life when I ended up in this unlikely career in a Victorian house museum, all because I was trying not to become my mother. As I led recurring tours through both public and private rooms where a robber baron and his family once lived, it dawned on me how similar that was to how I compartmentalized my life. I had made a series of mistakes and to publicly save face, I couldn’t let on how miserable I was in private. In this comedic storytelling solo show I talk about how until we learn from our past, history will repeat.
